About the project: The aim was the re-use of an antebellum, abandoned hotel, which was turned into a residence. The building was located on a slope and due to this territorial instability landslides were caused, as well as many damaged due to its total abandonment. A prerequisite for the restoration was the preservation of the outline. For the strengthening and the consolidation of the masonry, grouting was applied, while in order to strengthen the brickwork gunite was applied. New composite slabs (SYMDECK) were built and the weak points of the foundation were strengthened by underpinning. Extensive adjustments were carried out in the surroundings, where parterres were built in different levels and the passageways were overlayed with cobblestones.
